PARKS PASS PHOTO CONTEST WINNER NAMED
An unfamiliar view of Mount Rushmore won the grand prize of the 2005 National Parks Pass photo contest.
Texans receiving honorable mentions were Anne Neumann of Austin, for a picture of Yellowstone National Park, Wyo.; Ernesto Santos of McAllen, Mesa Verde National Park, Colo.; and Ron Smith of Georgetown, Grand Teton National Park, Wyo.
Kristin Gillig's photo of George Washington at Mount Rushmore _ one of more than 10,000 entries _ will grace the 2005 pass. The 28-year-old from Falls Church, Va., snapped the picture while on a nine-month jaunt around the world with her husband.
