With the runaway success of "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy," television's Fab Five have turned Clueless Dude Makeovers into a cottage industry.
Of course, if you believe that the slobs on the program actually cook the fancy dishes _ Foie gras? Prosciutto-wrapped shrimp? _ that Ted Allen comes up with, then we know someone who has some waterfront property she wants to sell you.
But cookbook authors are leaping into the fray right and left, churning out manuals meant to initiate Clueless Dudes into the mysteries of the kitchen _ and the how-tos of hosting.
From the rudimentary to the refined, there's a Guy Cookbook out there for just about every level of experience, and some of them are filled with tips, tricks and shortcuts that even accomplished cooks may find useful, or at least amusing.
Here's the lowdown on three books with different approaches and different degrees of difficulty.
