Byline: Juan C. Rodriguez
MIAMI _ Take your pick which sound was worse: The ball hitting Adam Dunn's bat in the top of the 10th inning or the ball clanging off the folded-up bleachers behind the El Dorado ad in left before it bounced back onto the field.
Both signaled the same thing.
The second of Adam Dunn's two homers was part of a two-run inning off Nate Bump (0-3) that sent the Reds to a series-clinching 7-6 victory Tuesday.
Dunn lifted Bump's first offering just to the right of the American League scoreboard for the Reds' third homer of the game and eighth in the first two games of the series.
If they can avoid a three-game sweep on Wednesday afternoon, the Marlins would complete a 4-2 homestand and split the six-game season series with the Reds before departing on a 10-game trip.
The more pressing goal is to keep the ball in the yard. Marlins pitchers have served up 12 homers in their past three games and 17 in their past five.
