Q: I'm looking for a Champagne punch with watermelon for a bridal shower. Can you suggest a nice festive drink? _ Susan Jack via e-mail
A: We developed this punch (at right) in the test kitchen to add sparkle to your party. Prepare the ice ring at least 8 hours before the party and freeze until serving time. And just a reminder: Don't feel you have to use Champagne, which is the proprietary name given to sparkling wine from France's Champagne region. Any inexpensive sparkling wine will work here because the flavor of a more complex (and pricier) one will be overpowered by the other ingredients.

Freezing time: 8 hours
