PROUDLY PRO-LIFE AWARDS DINNER TO HONOR FR. FRANKPAVONE, LAWRENCE GARVEY.(Brief Article)

The Reverend Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life, has been active in the pro-life movement for a quarter of a century. Ordained a priest by John Cardinal O'Connor in 1988, he served as a parish priest and taught theology at St. Joseph's Seminary and other institutions.

However, it is as national director of Priests for Life that Fr. Pavone is best known. Named to the post by Cardinal O'Connor in 1993, he has built a highly effective organization, personally traveling around the world to help build a Culture of Life.

His influential columns appear in many publications, including National Right to Life News.

Lawrence D. Garvey, founding partner of Radiofone, Incorporated, has also been very active in the pro-life movement, both locally and nationally, for the past two decades. Mr. Garvey and his brother, Donald, launched their cellular and paging communications company back in 1958, and he remained active in management until March 2000. Radiofone operates primarily in the southeast United States with the home office in New Orleans.

Mr. Garvey has been recognized locally for his business and charitable accomplishments, including several commendations by the Archdiocese of New Orleans and New Orleans Right to Life.
