May 6--SATELLITE PROVIDER ADDS LOCAL SHOWS: DISH Network will carry the broadcasts of most local stations beginning today, becoming the first satellite-television provider to offer that programming, the company announced.
Subscribers to the satellite service now will be able to watch local broadcasts, such as news shows, without switching to an antenna to receive the signals.
The company said it will carry the signals of WGME (channel 13, CBS); WCSH (channel 6, NBC); WPFO (channel 23, FOX); WPXT (channel 51, WB); WPME (channel 35, UPN); and WCBB (channel 10, PBS). A spokeswoman …
