MIAMI _ It's only May, but the war chants for the Dolphins trip to Seattle in November are already starting.
Dolphins cornerbacks Sam Madison and Patrick Surtain both fired shots at Seattle coach Mike Holmgren in response to remarks he made in March about how the Dolphins secondary performs in its coverage schemes.
"We see the Jets, New England and Buffalo twice a year and they don't bitch and complain like a guy Holmgren we barely see," said Madison, who added he believes Holmgren mentioned it only because the Dolphins play at Seattle on Nov. 21. Madison thinks Holmgren is hoping to buy calls in the game.
"Holmgren cries about one game we're playing ... it's kind of upsetting to hear a head coach come out and say something about the way our players play and our coaches coach."
Surtain was more blunt: "To say that's how we're being taught, that's some bull. But that's OK, we get to play them this year. We'll show him."
Holmgren, who sits on the NFL competition committee, was part of a move by the league to more strictly enforce the rules regarding contact between receivers and defensive backs.
