Rockies switch to four-man pitching rotation.(The Gazette)

DENVER _ The Colorado Rockies are gambling that subtraction will add a boost to their struggling pitching rotation.
The Rockies have switched to a four-man pitching rotation, manager Clint Hurdle announced before Colorado's doubleheader Saturday, bumping left-hander Jeff Fassero to the bullpen and no doubt raising eyebrows around the league.
"What we tried for the first month did not work and we are going to try something different now," Hurdle said. "It's creative. ... But we are not scared."
The move is a drastic one designed to jump-start a struggling staff that was a disappointment in the team's subpar 9-12 ...
