CLEVELAND _ Omar Vizquel became the 15th player in major-league history to play 2,000 games at shortstop Saturday. As a member of the Indians, Vizquel ranks second in franchise history, appearing in 1,346 games at short. Lou Boudreau played in 1,488.
Luis Aparicio is first on the list with 2,583 games, followed by Ozzie Smith with 2,511 and Cal Ripken with 2,302. The only active player on the list is Barry Larkin of the Cincinnati Reds, who is 14th with 2,017 games.
