LOUISVILLE, Ky. _ Philadelphia's horse just became America's horse.
Smarty Jones, came to the Kentucky Derby undefeated, with doubts about whether his awesome speed would extend a furlong longer than he'd ever raced. He left as something special on Saturday after running a perfect race on a sloppy track at Churchill Downs.
Smarty Jones stalked frontrunner Lion Heart to the last turn then blazed past him for the victory. He's never lost, and he's never been passed.
"He was too much horse," said Lion Heart jockey Mike Smith.
