Because of negligence, overzealousness, ineptitude or all of the above, that's what Jayson Williams is today.
Lucky the soul of a dead man didn't sway a jury of Williams' peers. Lucky he was found not guilty Friday on all the major criminal charges. Lucky he wasn't sentenced to 55 years in prison, denied a second chance at liberty and the pursuit of happiness _ lucky he was given a second chance at life.
