MIAMI _ NBA commissioner David Stern was in AmericanAirlines Arena for Friday's Game 5 between the Heat and Hornets, and he has plenty to be pleased about regarding the Heat franchise.
From Pat Riley's adjustment to his new position to Lamar Odom's turnaround to Dwyane Wade's and Rafer Alston's impact, Stern had plenty of praise for the Heat.
Stern said he spoke with Riley, the Heat president, and his wife Chris.
"It's good to see one of my favorite general managers, Pat Riley, doing so well," Stern said prior to tip-off. "I was just visiting with Chris, and we agreed that life is much calmer."
Calmer for whom?
"For both of us," Stern said. "For Pat, Chris and me. They seem to be enjoying it. It's a real success story."
