EAGLE, Colo. _ Through a chorus of mostly cheers, Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant arrived at the Eagle County Justice Center on Wednesday to be advised of the charges he faces for allegedly sexually assaulting a 19-year-old Colorado woman.

More than 70 people attended the NBA superstar's appearance. About 100 media from 60 outlets descended on the courthouse. All 68 courtroom seats were taken. Seven police deputies controlled the crowd. A rapt world television audience watched live.
