Q: It seems they keep finding problems with hormone therapy. Can you comment on the latest news about it and Alzheimer's disease?
A: As you've observed, postmenopausal hormone therapy has taken yet another hit.
Last year I wrote about the research findings that hormone therapy (the combination of estrogen and progestin) increased the risk of breast cancer and heart disease. The heart disease finding was unexpected. This double whammy led researchers to end the study early.
