Whether you are a vegetarian or a meat-eater, you'll find beans for all kinds of tastes and uses. What's more, recent health news about beans has been especially positive.
"Legumes (beans, lentils and peas) are like little nutrition powerhouses," said registered dietitian Heather Roy of Duluth.
Legumes are low in saturated fat and packed with protein, complex carbohydrates, B-vitamins and fiber, which, according to the latest research, can reduce the risk for heart disease and certain types of cancer.
