Jul. 31--PAY SURVEY PUT INTO PERSPECTIVE: "What were they smoking? Nobody I know makes that kind of money."
Readers began calling Wednesday morning, soon after we published a survey report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics that said the average hourly wage last fall in the Kansas City area was $18.71.
"Where did you get that trash? Who makes $18.75 an hour?"
