Jul. 15--WACKENHUT GETS CONTRACT: Wackenhut Corrections Corp. (WHC) has won a potential five-year, $35 million contract with the Department of Homeland Security to house female immigrants for the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Deerfield Beach beginning Oct. 1. The contract is for one year with four one-year options.

The Boca Raton company has had an emergency contract since last August for up to 150 noncriminal detainees. Under the new contract, Wackenhut will house up to 200 women with an option to add another 50 at the bureau's re...uest.
