NEW YORK -- The New York Energy Buyers Forum (NYEBF) filed a protest against the New York Independent System Operator's (NYISO) proposed demand curve process for pricing of generation capacity. The 22 members of the group filed legal papers seeking to intervene in the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) proceeding required for that agency to accept the demand curve. The proposed demand curve would replace the existing installed capacity auction held by the NYISO and the procedure under which it was accepted.
On April 21, the Electric Power Supply Association (EPSA) joined the Independent Power Producers of New York in supporting the demand curve proposal, which was initiated by the New York ISO on March 21.
