OVERLANDPARK, KS--A Johnson County real estate office is the first in the area to enjoy the comforts of an unconventional beating and cooling system. A.L. Huber General Contractor recently completed the construction of a Reece & Nichols office. Crews installed the AirFixture system, a new heating and cooling product for commercial buildings, developed in Kansas City and soon to be marketed nationwide by York International.
The AirFixture product is based on a new method of air distribution, says Michael McQueeny, one of the partners of AirFixture LLC. The system has two ceilings, one for supply and one for return air, eliminating most of the ductwork needed in a typical heating and cooling system. A special diffuser allows air to exit the ceiling and heat or cool a room, without causing air to be blown directly on the people in the room,
