TOPEKA, Kan. _ Most of the new laws the Kansas Legislature passed this year take effect Wednesday, and that means the state will dip a little deeper into residents' pockets.
For instance, a driver's license will cost more. So will hunting and fishing licenses. It also will cost an extra buck to file some cases in court.
Nearly every Kansan will feel the pinch of the new driver's license legislation.
However, even with the fee increases, Kansans are getting a good deal when they buy their licenses, said Sheila Walker, state director of vehicles.
