If Sammy Sosa again winds up in the starting outfield of the National League All-Star team, he apparently will have his many Japanese fans to thank.
Japan appeared to weigh in heavily in the latest voting totals, as evidenced by the fact that New York Yankees outfielder Hideki Matsui suddenly jumped from seventh to second among American League outfielders with a one-week gain of 736,276 votes _ nearly more than Barry Bonds and Sosa received last week combined (741,855).
