THE GIZMOS: Dell 2100MP Video Projector; Samsung HLM617W wide-screen TV with digital light processing (DLP).

THE SMALL AND TALL OF DLP: One video image maker is so small (8 by 10 inches) and light (4 pounds) it practically floats out of your hand. The other is a big-screen set that took a couple of guys to move into place.

What the Dell 2100MP video Projector and the Samsung HLM 617W wide-screen TV have in common is that both make their pretty pictures with Texas Instruments' DLP micro-mirror technology _ sure to be a big part of our TV viewing future.

Digital light processing engines for consumer video products are now available in several quality levels, but all work pretty much the same way.
