Jun. 20--QUESTION: I've been following Sun Microsystems for some time now and note that it has come up off its lows. What do you think of the stock today?

ANSWER: Sun Microsystems (ticker symbol SUNW) has been all over the map in recent years. Its stock has more than doubled in price from a 52-week low of $2.34 a share to a Thursday closing of $5.18 a share.
Even at that, the shares still look to be dirt cheap, compared with their high-water mark of $64.79 in 2000.
But the company has been losing money and needs to stem the flow of red ink soon.
Sacramento money manager Joe Milam has bought and sold this stock a number of times over the years, but right now he's out of it.
