Jun. 3--Movie-rental leader Blockbuster Inc. plans to trim its corporate staff by about 10 percent this year as it cuts costs and focuses on new projects such as a multichannel subscription service.

Corporate-level employees at its Dallas headquarters and McKinney distribution center received a memo Friday saying that additional staff cuts would be made this week and throughout the year.

The goal is to reduce the corporate staff by about 200 positions in 2003, including 60 job cuts announced in February, said spokeswoman Karen Raskopf. Some workers will ...
