WASHINGTON _ The Bush administration on Friday reduced the terrorism alert level one notch, to yellow or elevated, saying the threat of an attack on the United States had diminished over the last 10 days though "a significant risk" remains.

The threat alert had been set at its second-highest level, orange or high, on May 20, ahead of the Memorial Day holiday and after terrorist strikes in Saudi Arabia and Morocco that were linked to al-Qaida. The attacks killed eight Americans and 67 other people.

There were no terrorist incidents inside the United States in the last 10 days.
