May 28--Congressman Howard Coble hopes a gathering next week in the nation's capital will start a political movement to stabilize the American furniture industry.

Coble, R-6th, is one of the organizers of the new Congressional Furnishings Caucus, which is scheduled to have its first meeting Tuesday afternoon on Capitol Hill.

Coble and Rep. Mel Watt, D-12th, the two congressmen who represent High Point, will serve as co-chairmen of the caucus.

Coble said 22 representatives in the 435-member House already have signed on to join the caucus, which will bring …
