NEW YORK _ At approximately 12:50 p.m. EDT Monday, Roger Clemens will complete his warmup pitches, make his customary visit to Babe Ruth's shrine in Monument Park at Yankee Stadium and head off in search of baseball immortality.
It could be a Memorial Day like no other in the rich history of the New York Yankees.
Clemens, a six-time Cy Young Award winner who cemented his future status as a Hall of Famer long ago, will attempt to win his 300th career game against the Boston Red Sox, the team with which he began his storied career.
"I'm hoping to get after it pretty quick," said Clemens, who began the season seven victories shy of 300. "I'd like to get it and get it over with." …
