May 23--WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.-- State officials on Thursday charged SCI, the nation's largest funeral-service company, with criminal mismanagement for allowing chaos in two of its South Florida cemeteries.

Bodies were routinely buried in the wrong place at the Menorah Gardens cemeteries in Palm Beach and Broward counties, investigators for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement found. Workers trying to squeeze in more burial vaults dug up remains and tossed them in the woods, FDLE said. Two men sued after a stranger's corpse was sent to their mother's funeral.
