Boulder, Colo.'s Oldest Mountain Sports Retailer to Consolidate Two Locations.

May 21--The owners of Mountain Sports will soon close their Pearl Street store -- considered to be Boulder's oldest mountaineering specialty shop -- and consolidate into their other Boulder location.

Mountain Sports will vacate its one-story, tan cinderblock home at 821 Pearl St. in mid-July.

In the meantime, the business will add 2,000 square feet to its 5,300-square-foot store at 2835 Pearl, a move ownership believes will keep Mountain Sports alive, despite increasing competition in and around the city.
