May 20--Though Pace Airlines has yet to decide whether Winston-Salem will be its permanent home, officials hope to start daily commuter service between Smith Reynolds Airport and a suburb of Chicago.

The charter airline has planned a two-day event later this week to shuttle business and civic officials from the airport in Gary, Indiana, to Smith Reynolds and then on to Wilmington.

The Gary Regional Airport is fast becoming an alternative for Chicago's busy O'Hare International, and officials in Wilmington have approached Pace about starting a route to the …
