May 18--Eli Lilly and Co. wants to hire some of the hundreds of Pfizer Inc. employees in Kalamazoo, Mich., being displaced in a takeover.

"Every pharmaceutical company in the world is advertising up there" to recruit former Pharmacia workers soon to be laid off or relocated by new owner Pfizer, said Joan Todd, a Lilly spokeswoman, last week.
