May 17--H&R BLOCK CLIENTS MAY GET REFUND: If you live in Rhode Island and had your 2000 income-tax return prepared by H&R Block, you could be eligible for a refund.
During the 2001 tax season, H&R Block charged customers a $22 fee for a " piece of mind" guarantee, according to a statement from the Rhode Island attorney general's office. Under the guarantee, H&R Block promised to pay up to $5,000 for any additional income tax that was charged to the consumer because of the preparer's error.
