Q. What is a stink bug? Are they good guys or pests? I think I found one that has bright red and black marks on it on my cabbage plants.
A. Stink bugs (Murgantia histrionica) are true bugs from the Hemiptera order, native to the United States and Mexico. They are shield-shaped, 7-10 millimeters long and have a distinctive triangle on their backs. If disturbed, many give off a strong-smelling substance _ hence the name.
