ARLINGTON, Texas _ Texas Rangers outfielder Carl Everett lingered on the field after batting practice Thursday, greeting and chatting with some of his former Red Sox teammates. There seemed no evidence of lingering animosity over his turbulent two years in Boston.
Then the game started and Everett seemed to turn into a man almost possessed with a single burning desire to break the heart of every Red Sox fan who booed him in Fenway Park.
Perhaps that's impossible to do in one game, but Everett came close, hitting two home runs, including a grand slam, and driving in seven runs in the Rangers' 19-7 victory at The Ballpark in Arlington.
