PHILADELPHIA _ Barry Bonds arrived at the ballpark feeling better than expected Thursday, and trainer Stan Conte expressed optimism that the Giants left fielder would be in the lineup Friday against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Bonds aggravated a right-hamstring strain while making a running catch against the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday. It was his first game as a starter since suffering the injury July 19 and the Giants feared a serious setback.
