Scientists have come up with yet more evidence that tea is good for your health: It helps keep bones strong.
This new research about tea's potential health benefits follows several recent studies their suggest the popular brewed beverage may help reduce the risk of Parkinson's disease, heart attack and cancer.
A team from the National Cheng Kung University Hospital in Tainan, Taiwan, says that habitual tea drinking over several years preserves bone density in both men and women. The reserchers have not yet determined what ingredients in tea promote bone density, however they do know tea contains phenols, phytoestrogens, statins, flavonoids and about 4,000 other chemical compounds that can affect health.
