With grilling season in full swing and every seafood market in promoting wild Alaska salmon this month, I decided to find out, once and for all, whether I _ and you _ could really tell the difference between farm-raised salmon, selling for $6-$10 a pound, and the legendary wild Copper River salmon, commanding prices of up to $16 a pound.
The difference is significant, and I know I'm not the only backyard cook wondering whether the more expensive product is worth the price. And besides, with all we've read about the oceans being overfished, shouldn't we be buying farmed fish so that we don't eat all the wild ones?
