FORT WORTH, Texas _ Following up on U.S. Catholic bishops' tougher stance on sexual misconduct in the clergy, Bishop Joseph Delaney of the Fort Worth Diocese said Saturday that he has removed the Rev. Rudolf Renteria from the ministry and has "forbidden him to present himself as a priest in any capacity."

Declaring that no act of sexual abuse against a minor will be tolerated, Delaney removed Renteria, who in 1981 was accused of "improper sexual touching" of a 14-year-old boy at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Arlington. The boy was a member of the parish, and Renteria was...
