In the World Series, the two best baseball teams over the whole 162-game season should face each other, right?
In 2000, the team with the fifth best record (Mets) in the majors faced the team with the ninth best record (Yankees), and the team with the ninth best record won!
So, in 2000, thanks to the new format, we have a champion which was not even in the top 25 percent of all major league teams.

It was inspiring to read about the great Bob Feller in the December issue of Baseball Digest.
Mr. Feller recently visited our town in order to participate in a World War II memorial fund-raiser, hosted by the Philadelphia A's Historical Society.
The sold-out event raised thousands of dollars, thanks to Mr. Feller's presence.
