WASHINGTON--The U.S. Senate on March 8 approved a bill that would increase depreciation of new equipment, including energy-efficient machinery, and thus serve as an economic stimulus, sponsors hope. The House of Representatives had previously approved the bill 417-3, and President Bush indicated that he would sign the bill into law.
