Renewable Energy Incentives
The Database of State Incentives for Renewable Energy (DSIRE) website (www.dsireusa.org) provides a compilation of information on state, local, and utility incentives that promote renewable energy. Selected federal incentives also are listed. Site visitors can investigate incentives by clicking on a U.S. map or by using a number of criteria, including searches according to sector, incentive type, community, and technology type.
Information provided includes financial incentives, such as tax exemptions, grants, and rebates; investment and awareness programs; and rules, regulations, and policies.
The DSIRE site also has information about schools that have switched to solar technology, as well as links to the North Carolina Solar Center, the Interstate Renewable Energy Council, and the North Carolina State University Industrial Extension Service.
