SAN JOSE, Calif. _ I'm trying to embrace these coming-of-age Kings the way Chris Webber keeps hugging his teammates.
These Sacramento Kings give the Bay Area hope. Just a couple of hours up I-80, they represent the blueprint for a quick turnaround. In just four years they have gone from 27-55 to a Game 7 at home to dethrone the Los Angeles Lakers. The once sad-Sac Kings could finally live up their nickname.
So I'm captivated by the attack-mode guard play of Mike Bibby, Bobby Jackson and Doug Christie. I get a kick out of Vlade Divac and Scot Pollard and their wily skills. I wish the Warriors had two fearless Eastern Europeans with the height and shooting-guard mentality of 6-foot-9 Peja Stojakovic and 6-8 Hedo Turkoglu.
Here is a confident, clicking t-e-a-m . . .
