MONTGOMERY, Ala. _ For the second time in school history, the Columbus State Cougars are in the Division II baseball national championship game.
The Cougars reached the title game Saturday night at Paterson Field with a gutty 4-3 victory over Central Missouri State when Larry Pittmon scored in the bottom of the 13th inning on Chris Gilstrap's sacrifice fly to center.
"This team never quits," said Ladd Hammond, who kept CSU's hopes alive by driving in the tying run with two outs in the ninth inning.
