FOXBORO, Mass. _ The roller coaster that is the New England Revolution hit another dip in the track on Saturday night. The team dropped a 2-0 decision to the defending MLS champion San Jose Earthquakes.

After two losses to open the season, New England went on a three-game unbeaten streak, then lost back-to-back games again before last week's win over Los Angeles.

The shutout ended the goal-scoring streak of rookie Taylor Twellman, who would have tied an MLS record if he had scored in his seventh consecutive game.
