Despite playoff run, Celtics not all there yet.(The Providence Journal)
BOSTON _ At first glimpse, you can look at the just-completed Boston Celtics' season and marvel at how much has changed for the better.
After a decade of malaise, this Celtics team renewed the dormant fire for pro basketball in New England. Its march to the Eastern Conference finals certainly bodes well for the future.
Or does it? Did the Celtics' spring run mark the beginning to a return to the NBA's elite or did it just mask problems that really haven't gone away?
When the NBA's regular season began in October, three key questions hovered over the Celtics. Observers wondered where coach Jim O'Brien could turn for any low-post scoring, whether Kenny Anderson had anything left in his tank at point guard and whether anyone could emerge as a third scorer behind Paul Pierce and Antoine Walker.
