CHARLOTTE, N.C. _ Saturday was lost-and-found night for the Charlotte Sting.
Found: A scintillating, nationally televised 94-87 overtime victory against defending WNBA champion Los Angeles, which ended a nine-game losing streak against the Sparks.
Lost: Star guard Andrea Stinson to an ankle sprain midway through the first half.
Found: Kelly Miller, buried on the bench last year, who replaced Stinson with 23 points, seven rebounds and a new-found confidence. Her previous career scoring high was seven.
Found: Clutch efforts from veterans Allison Feaster and Dawn Staley, neither who played a minute in three exhibitions.
The Sting (1-0) won the rematch of last year's WNBA Final, which Los Angeles (3-1) swept in two games.
The crowd of 10,063 was the second-largest in Charlotte's six-year history, and was treated to one of the most exciting games in Sting history.
