Officiating a huge issue for Lakers-Kings in Game 7.(Knight Ridder Newspapers)
LOS ANGELES _ When Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant visit the free-throw line more times in a game than the entire opposing team, when a team that has averaged 22 foul shots a game in a series visits the charity stripe in an elimination game more times than that in one quarter, and when such an atrocity takes place just days after Lakers coach Phil Jackson whined about the officiating in the previous game, something just doesn't smell right.
The Los Angeles Lakers were facing elimination before Friday's game. Now the Sacramento Kings find themselves in that position. If there was ever a time for conspiracy theories to be given new life, that time is now, as Game 7 looms Sunday night at Arco Arena in Sacramento.
