MIAMI _ After two heartbreaking losses to start the season, the Sol will look for its first victory on the road at Madison Square Garden on Sunday during a nationally televised game against the New York Liberty.
New York (2-1) is all the motivation the Sol needs. The Liberty eliminated the Sol last season in the first round of the playoffs and leads the series 5-4.
"It's always crucial to get a win when you start down 0-2," Sol coach Ron Rothstein said Saturday.
"But it's a 32-game season. Last season, Charlotte was 1-10 and came back to win the Eastern Conference championship. So long as we are showing improvement and see our nucleus coming together, we will be fine."
Once Rothstein got over his anger following the 69-65 loss to Los Angeles on Thursday night, he was able to see the positives in his team's effort against the defending WNBA champions.
He also was more upbeat about how the team is gelling.
"If we can get everyone back healthy, I think we can be a good club," Rothstein said. "I like our team. What we have, because of so many new people and some of the injuries, is that this has become an extension of training camp but the games count. We have to look at the big ...
