CHARLOTTE, N.C. _ In a sworn affidavit, Duke Energy Corp. told federal regulators Friday that it did not engage in bogus electricity trading to boost revenues.
Charlotte-based Duke said it reviewed more than 50,000 power trades during 2000 and 2001, and only 13 small trades had the characteristics of the transactions under investigation by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. The company said none were so-called round-trip trades, and that all were for legitimate business purposes.
