DALLAS _ This was the season in which Brad Elder would turn things around. After retaining his playing card through Qualifying School, he was back working with instructor Paul Marchand, developing a simplified swing designed to improve consistency.
Everything was headed in the right direction. He opened the season with a tie for 13th at the Sony Open, then shot 20-under to finish 40th at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic.
Three tournaments later, Elder felt pain in his left shoulder. He managed to finish the Genuity Championship on March 3, but he has not played since.
